Carbetocin API is a synthetic long-acting Oxytocin 8 peptide analog with agonist properties. Its clinical and pharmacological properties are similar to those of naturally produced Oxytocin. Like Oxytocin, Carbetocin binds to the hormone-producing receptors of uterine smooth muscle, causing rhythmic contraction of the uterus.
Introduction
Carbetocin is an oxytocin analogue that is mainly used to regulate uterine contractions during childbirth and reduce postpartum hemorrhage. Its application in animals has also been widely studied, especially in livestock and experimental animals. Its main uses include promoting delivery, regulating mammary gland function, and controlling postpartum uterine contractions.
In livestock, Carbetocin is often used in the veterinary field, especially in postpartum management of cattle, sheep, and pigs. By injecting Carbetocin, effective contraction of the postpartum uterus can be promoted, uterine recovery can be helped, and the risk of postpartum hemorrhage can be reduced. In addition, it can also reduce complications such as uterine prolapse caused by insufficient postpartum uterine tension. Carbetocin can also be used in some cases of dystocia, by promoting uterine contractions to help the fetus expel and reduce artificial intervention.
In some experimental animal studies, Carbetocin has also been used to study the effects of oxytocin-like drugs on behavior, reproduction, and social interaction. For example, in studies of mice and rats, Carbetocin was used to explore its regulatory effects on maternal behavior and parent-offspring relationships, including its effects on the behavior of lactating maternal mice.
In general, the application of Carbetocin in animals is mainly focused on improving postpartum management, promoting uterine recovery and assisting delivery, and it is an important veterinary drug.
