Pharmacological Actions
Alarelin Acetate for Injection is a polypeptide hormone drug. It stimulates the animal's anterior pituitary gland to release luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), exhibiting dual activities of both LH and FSH.
Indications and Usage
Hormonal drug. Used for treating delayed ovulation, ovarian quiescence, persistent corpus luteum, ovarian cysts, and early pregnancy diagnosis in dairy cows. Also used to induce ovulation in fish.
Dosage and Administration
Preparation: Dilute with sterile water for injection or physiological saline before use. Prepare immediately prior to use.
Note: For inducing spawning in fish, the dose for male fish is half that for female fish.
Intraperitoneal Injection
Single dose:
▸ Grass carp: 5 µg per 1 kg body weight
Two-dose regimen:
▸ Silver carp and bighead carp: 5 µg per 1 kg body weight (administer 1 µg initially, followed by the remaining dose after 12 hours)
Three-dose regimen:
▸ First dose: Administer 1–2.5 µg per fish approximately 15 days in advance
▸ Second dose: 2.5 µg per 1 kg body weight
▸ Third dose: Administer 5 µg per 1 kg body weight plus 1–2 µg of fish pituitary gland after 20 hours
Intramuscular Injection
Cows:
▸ Delayed ovulation: 12.5–25 µg administered concurrently with artificial insemination
▸ Ovarian quiescence: 25 µg once daily, for up to 1–3 consecutive days (total dose not exceeding 75 µg)
▸ Persistent corpus luteum or ovarian cysts: 25 µg once daily, for up to 1–4 consecutive days (total dose not exceeding 100 µg)
▸ Early pregnancy diagnosis: 12.5–25 µg administered once 5–8 days post-breeding. If no return to estrus occurs within 35 days, pregnancy is confirmed
▸ Swine: 25 µg
▸ Sheep: 10 µg
Adverse Reactions
Excessive dosage may lead to failure in inducing spawning, reduced maturity rate of broodstock, blindness in treated fish, etc.
Precautions
▸ Generally, no other hormones should be used after administering this product.
▸ Induction is ineffective in fish with incomplete gonadal development.
▸ Avoid repeated use with reduced doses to prevent adverse reactions such as immune tolerance and gonadal atrophy or degeneration, which may reduce effectiveness.
Withdrawal Period
Not required.

Preserve in tight, well-sealed containers, protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 20°C.
