Description
White or slightly yellow cylindrical sponge; odorless.
Pharmacological Actions
Flugestone acetate belongs to the class of hormonal drugs. Based on the action of estrogen, it promotes the development of the endometrium and glands, inhibits uterine muscle contractions, reduces the uterine muscle's response to oxytocin, and exerts a progestational effect. Through a feedback mechanism, it inhibits the secretion of luteinizing hormone from the adenohypophysis, suppressing estrus and ovulation. Additionally, in conjunction with estrogen, it stimulates the development of mammary gland alveoli in preparation for lactation.
Indications and Usage
Progestogen drug. Used for inducing estrus or synchronizing estrus in sheep and goats.
Dosage and Administration
Intravaginal Administration
▸ Single dose: One sponge per sheep.
▸ Duration: Remove after 12–14 days of administration.
Adverse Reactions
No adverse reactions have been observed when used as directed.
Precautions
▸ Prohibited for use in food-producing animals.
▸ Prohibited during the lactation period.
Withdrawal Period
Sheep: 30 days.
Storage
Store protected from light, tightly closed, in a dry place.
