Pharmacological Action
Pharmacodynamics: Buserelin is a synthetic analog of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) with activity similar to that of natural GnRH. It stimulates the pituitary gland to release follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) into the bloodstream. Administration at doses above the clinically recommended level does not further increase the release of FSH and LH. Buserelin simultaneously stimulates gonadal steroid secretion and is used to synchronize ovulation in sows.
Pharmacokinetics: Buserelin is rapidly absorbed and eliminated after injection. Following administration, the body rapidly releases luteinizing hormone. It is metabolized in the liver, kidneys, and pituitary gland into inactive small peptides and is primarily excreted via urine.
Indications
Multiparous sows: Used to induce synchronized ovulation following estrus synchronization, enabling a single fixed-time artificial insemination.
Dosage and Administration
Intramuscular injection: Single dose - administer 2.5 ml to multiparous sows 24–36 hours after weaning. Perform a single artificial insemination 36–42 hours after administration in sows showing signs of estrus. Sows that do not show estrus at that time may be inseminated once when estrus signs appear.
Adverse Reactions
No adverse reactions have been observed when used according to the prescribed dosage and administration.
Precautions
1. Do not use in pregnant or lactating sows.
2. Use of this product outside the recommended protocol may lead to follicular cyst formation and may impair fertility.
3. Aseptic technique must be observed when withdrawing and administering the solution.
4. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women should avoid contact with this product. Women of childbearing age should take appropriate protective measures.
5. Users should avoid contact of the product with eyes and skin. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water. If skin contact occurs, wash immediately with soap and water. Wash hands after use.
6. In case of accidental self-injection, seek immediate medical attention and show the package insert to the attending physician.
7. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling this product.
8. Ensure the presence of a boar for stimulation at the time of single artificial insemination following administration.
